Romancescams

Have you ever heard of Romancescams.com? Well, if you have ever met someone on-line and wondered if he or she was sincere with you, particularly when professing love for you, then that site is for you. Romancescams is a web site of contributions by people who have been deceived and lost their heart or money to phonies who are professional con artists.
The contributors post warnings about that the scams the Romeo or Juliet used to clean out some or all of their bank accounts. Over 4500 registered users give info about how to avoid being a victim of fraud and how to not suffer a broken heart. And the biggest way it is done to the victims is the "reshipping scam".
Reshipping occurs after the phony promises love and romance, then asks the victim to receive merchandise at their homes and instructs them to reship it overseas. The items being reshipped are bought by the scammer with stolen credit cards, but once the retailer discovers the fact that the cards were not used by the scam artist, the "reshipper" becomes liable for the cost of the goods. Thus, the scammer gets the merchandise and the victim is forced to pay for it.
Another popular ruse is for the scammer to pose as someone who falls in love but needs "a loan" for some perceived temporary emergency. Once the love struck victim wires the money the lover disappears a much richer man or woman. Anyway, most of these scams emanate from Nigeria but and start when a person meets him or her on a singles site. In a short time they start professing their love. Once the bait is taken the victim is easy prey. Some of the tips given at Romancescams to warn people about losing their heart and money include....
* Poor writing skill- Romance scammers often portray themselves as wealthy, educated U.S. or British businessmen, but since most are foreigners from Africa, Eastern Europe and East Asia their use of English is littered with poor grammar and usage errors.
* Phony pictures- If he or she looks like a model i is because the scammers often take their profiles from web sites that feature models.
* Address request- When the scammer asks for this too soon, he or she may be setting you up for that reshipping trick.
* Convenient responses- Scammers let you tell them everything so they can condition a response to best reflect what you like or need. For example, if you tell them you are struggling financially, they say they are rich. You can find the site at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/romancescams
Ok...now I will ask the question. Besides the obvious Nigerian bank tricks, have you ever been victimized by one of these kid of romance scam artists? Just to let you know that such scams are not always perpetrated by men, that woman also abuse men, I shall mention a case that occurred yesterday of female sexual abuse against a male. A woman on a flight to London was charged yesterday with sexual assault after an altercation with a male flight attendant on an airplane flying from Charlotte, N.C., to London, an official said. Conan Bruce, a spokesman for the Federal Air Marshal Service in Washington, said the woman got into an argument with a male flight attendant aboard US Airways Flight 1494.
"During the altercation, she grabbed his buttocks," Bruce said, adding that he based that information on police reports. When the airplane landed at Gatwick Airport, Sussex police charged the woman with disrupting a flight and sexual assault.
Hmmmmmm That fight attendant must be lacking some ,male hormones... I think I would be flattered to have my buttocks grabbed by a woman?
