Halloween Costumes For Fido And Friends

The world of Halloween costumes is expanding. I remember as a kid that the vast majority of Halloween costumes were worn by small children. But then it expanded to all children, big and large, to adults and now to pets! Yep, Fido is in costume this year (Maybe he should dress as a human). It's all the result of the change in Halloween, from a kid's day to a day for adults. It seems more adults costume and play on halloween than do kids. so it's only natural they would put their pets in a costume too.
You can't envision what kind of costume a pet would wear? Well, here is the list for 2007 of top selling pet costumes, as reported by a leading costume retailer..
1) Men in Black - Or maybe pet dressed as men in black. I did not see the movie from which the costume idea generated. Were there pets in it?
2) Darth Vader- Does your pet have a bit of the dark side in him? If so, put him in this outfit. The ultimate assault by Pet Darth Vader is , of course, lifting the leg and doing business on the enemy.
3) Superman- Now man's best friend can leap tall buildings in a single bound! Or if your pet is a cat, it can just climb them instead.
4) Snow White- Perfect for your Pretty Princess Pet, but bulldogs should not be dressed this way. No need to slander Snow White's good reputation
5) Dogula- Yep, I guess Dracula ran out of virgins (are there any left) and is now biting virgin dogs instead. Thus, we have creatures of the night that howl like dogs not wolves. Fido will really want to sink his teeth into this one.
6) Spider man- It makes since to imitate a fellow animal...or in this case insect. If you get caught in this little pup's web he make lick your face to death..
7) Zorro- It may not be a "Z", but he'll leave his mark when he dumps his poo on your porch.
8) Raggedy Ann- I think a pig would look most suitable in this costume. They are sloppy and raggedy. Make sure if the Raggedy Ann Pig comes to your door for trick-or-treat candy, you give him all the garbage instead. that's what really turns him on.
9) Wonder Woman. Anything you can do, Pet Wonder Woman can do better. Her bark is just as bad as her bite.
10) Prisoner Dog- I guess this dog is dressed in those orange prison jump suits and engages in unnatural acts in the prison shower with other Prison Fidos.
There you have it. Most of the costumes are more suitable for dogs or cats, given that owners rarely take their birds, fish or pigs trick-or-treating. So have plenty of doggie treats in that candy bowl. Otherwise Dogula and friends may give you a trick of a treat- a bite in an unmentionable place.
