Creation Museum

Some people confuse fable with fact, myth with reality and common sense with delusion. One example is on display in Cincinnati, Ohio, the just opened "Creation Museum. The Creation Museum features high-tech exhibits Like dinosaurs and a huge wooden ark in a a huge venue whose purpose is to tell a story that contradicts the scientifically proved evolution of man.
Ha! It's a literal interpretation of Biblical Old Testament version of history, dinosaurs appeared on the same day God created other land animals Adam and Eve fall from grace and Noah surviving an epic flood. Yep! The fundamentalist Christian Biblical version of history that most Christians are taught as children are parables, not scientific fact.
For example, though scientists say there's a gulf of millions of years between man and the giant lizards, but according to the Creation Museum, they lived in harmony just a few thousand years ago. It's part of the literal interpretation of the Bible adopted by Ham and other creationists. I guess if the crazy Muslim fanatics can spread their fantasy, so can the crazy Christian fringe...equal opportunity for delusion, I presume.
Because people are fascinated by dinosaurs, they are synonymous with millions of years and evolution, and that is the hook to get people to visit the museum, and be propagandized Evolution is derided by displays of animated dinos, a huge wooden ark and high-tech exhibits designed by an acclaimed theme park artist. In this Old Testament version of history, dinosaurs appeared on the same day God created other land animals. The museum also contains fossils, hung in large glass cases in a room visitors spill into after taking a tour of Old Testament history, with the message that the Museum feels that fossils were created by the massive flood detailed in the book of Genesis.
So why would educated people believe in or even have interest in seeing such foolishness? Perhaps it is curiosity or maybe this is the era of the reactionaries, a time when we are tempted to believe the unscientific because reality is not as appealing. In particular, children are susceptible to such propaganda, as they have yet to study or understand the difference between reality and myth. The Biblical creation story found in Genesis is the centerpiece of the museum. Museum visitors walk through a lush recreation of the Garden of Eden, see life-sized models of Adam and Eve frolic and then get banished. Then it's on to the era of the Great Flood, where workers are busy building Noah's giant ark, which rises two or three stories inside the museum. Sounds like a museum George Bush could love.
After all, he may be the only one more deluded than the Bible thumpers who created the museum....and I have grave doubts whether Bush has evolved from anything that is an intelligent species.
