Appetite News

Are you hungry? Or does my E mail just make you feel sick? Haha Well, if it is the former I have a list of the top 5 foods that suppress appetite and the top 10 that increase your desire to eat (If you really think you need that). This comes from News target.com but I have no verification of the accuracy.
According to target when you feel the need to eat or drink something but know you have already had too many calories these five foods really do control appetite and suppress cravings.
1) Water or broth- If you drink a all glass of water when hungry, then wait 10 minutes, you'll supposedly suppress your appetite and forget that snack you were thinking of eating. There are no calories with the water, but if water is not your pleasure the broth can be substituted at only 20 calories per serving.
2) Green Leafy Vegetables- These have so few calories you don't need to count them when eating. As soon as your tummy has had enough of them it will turn off the hunger pangs in your brain. If yo can't eat them plain adding a tablespoon of low-calorie salad dressing adds only 25 calories. Stir frying them with onions, garlic and soy sauce would be even more palatable.
3) Banana Pudding- When I read that banana pudding was a suppressant I became interested in appetite suppressants. Well, sort of..because it has to be made with soy milk, soy protein powder, guar gum and banana flavoring. Uh....On second thought, I think I might drink the water instead.
4) Pickles- Only natural ones with no added sugars. An entire jar of pickles has only 50 calories. 5) Apples- Alas! Something I like to eat. Apples have a few more a calories that the others, but the fiber in them fills up the tummy and stops one from eating.
Ok, forget those for a minute. Target also has a list of the 10 biggest appetite stimulants (Not necessarily foods) These are the things to avoid when trying to lose weight.
1) Drinking wine, beer or alcohol
2) Stress (does my E mail make you hungry?) Supposedly, stress makes the body crave carbohydrates and fats.
3) Excessive exercise
4) Artificial sweeteners in drinks - thought the calorie loss from using them tends to nullify the slight appetite increase they cause
5) Eating treats that are "favorite foods"
6) Bright colored plates- No kidding! If your plates are bright colored appetite increases as much as 70%. Blue is the nest color plates to use to reduce the appetite.
7) Eating with others- when you eat alone you tend to eat less.
8) Reading or watching TV while eating always increases the amount eaten as we lose awareness of what we are eating.
9) Sleeping less than eight hours a night 10 The smell of cooking. What d yo think? Are these stimulants and suppressants for everyone or do we have our own unique way to control or increase appetite that doesn't follow these models?
While you're thinking about this I am going to get a donut.
